This is a selection of some of the best photographs from Auntie Ralph’s collection of studio portraits of drag performers, most of them dedicated to him, “Dear Ralph.” They were part of the Making Rain Portfolio, a photographic exhibition organized by Ferrandina Press to mark the publication of Fred Gorski’s memoir of drag, big hair and covens, Making Rain. They have been colorized by Ferrandina Press to bring them to life for a modern viewer.
These are not ordinary greeting cards, but rather art prints. They are printed on archival acid-free paper, using pigment inks, which last a lifetime. (These prints are often called "giclée" prints).
